Emil is a London-based photojournalist with a background in sports, communications, fashion and creative writing. As a second-generation immigrant from Cameroon, Emil has always felt a strong sensitivity towards the nuances of identity while growing up in Western Culture and navigating different spaces introduced by his range of interests.
As a result, Emil’s projects are often led by curiosity in connection to creative expression, well-being, community and belonging.
As a largely self-taught photographer, Emil has worked on personal projects and commissions. He experiences photography as a vessel which allows him to grow closer to himself and tell stories he feels affinity towards.
